Can anyone share with me some tips on how to host my website at home

step 1: u should have broadband

step 2:u should have dynamic or static DNS

step 3:u need have a Static Local IP Address

step 4:Forwarding Port 80

step 5: Allowing Web Traffic Through The Firewall

step 6:and u should also have a Apache Or Internet Information Server

The thing is that you should most likely have good DNS server and broadband connection which wouln`t be offered by ISP as they just could offer you host on their local hosting company (maybe a subsidiary). So you might have a problems with configuration and future implementation but at most it depends on your ISP. So good luck with the testing.

you could build the site yourself using a web editor such as kompozer from kompozer.net , there are lots of free templates online you can use so you dont have to worry about being creative , one great source of free templates is http://www.opendesigns.org/
