How much does site maturity impact SEO?

How much does site maturity impact SEO? Should I make an "under construction" page and register my site with search engines before it's up and running for SEO purposes?

I think the age of a site i s somewhat important but not as important as back links and other SEO techniques. Also you can't control the age of your site although you could buy an established domain rather than a new domain name. There are many people who build up a site and then sell the domain to others who want to start with a high PR and/or traffic.

The importance of domain age in SEO is still a bit hazy. It is important bit not so as content and backlinks.
Personally, I don't think it will have much of an effect if your site is relatively new or old.

Site maturity effects SEO. If your site is a matured one that means you are getting better SEO advantage. But search engines will consider site maturity with site history. So buying old domains will not help.
