Well looks like Photoshop is more popular than Fireworks.
You can download fireworks 8 for free at www.macromedia.com or www.adobe.com ( 30 days free trial)
I think you have to give a chance, fireworks is great, at the beginning I didnt like too much, but as soon as I began to use Fireworks I noticed that is great to create buttons, icons and png file format has more option if you use fireworks. |

well never tried Fireworks...
therefore its PhotoShop for me all the way...
one think is that this type of software requires a decent processing pwoer and lots of system RAM...
unfortunately with my 512MB DDR i feel i am quite low on RAM when running the application..

Ok seems that many of you guys didn't even try fireworks .
I prefer it for some purposes .. I beleive I can do every thing using it (or at least every thing I tried or was supposed to do).
But here come the fact that some purposes is made in less time using photoshop.. This makes most people prefer photoshop as a full graphicsl solution.
But I still prefer fireworks untill I find something I can't do anyway using it ..
I think the filter of bevel boss is a great feature in fireworks which can be simulated using gradients in other applications but as I am not a professional I didn't manage to do this using any graphic application till now.
Fireworks is also simple and user-friendly as it have less tools and filters than photoshop in default. |

Basically I like both of this, Photoshop & Fireworks. And if I compare then Photoshop has heavty tools and functions than fireworks. For quick or small graphics work I would strongly recommend anyone to use Macromedia Fireworks.. it is a great software. And If you are going for professional graphics work then there is better than Photoshop.
Regards,
Cruze... |
